Sarah KruppCo-Founder, Director of Media Relations
A former journalist for newspapers and digital media, Sarah knows how to unearth a good story and how to pitch it. She does not believe in sending out form emails to hundreds of media targets. Rather, she does careful research on media targets and crafts each pitch individually to the journalist and publication. This approach works. It has helped her cultivate relationships with traditional and social media influencers and continually garner coverage for Town Kryer clients on everything from Dr. Oz and Oprah to local media outlets including EaterSF, The San Francisco Chronicle, 7×7 and Dining Around.
While she prefers pitching happy stories, her experience in journalism also gives her an insider’s understanding to crisis communications. She knows just how to turn the tide of a negative story.
Her love of storytelling doesn’t stop at the pitch. She oversees Town Kryer’s social media team and loves the challenge of telling compelling stories cleverly while using very few words. Addicted to the instant gratification (or occasional disappointment), she monitors client social media channels obsessively, always ready to tweak content and strategy.
She and Marcus, write the Town Kryer blog, in which they blather about topics irrelevant to their profession, but very important to the common citizen such as yoga pants (ok in the office?), metrosexuals (passé?) and sugar (how can something so good be so bad?).
